Cresta opens its AI agent platform to developers with end-to-end self-service

Cresta now lets developers build, test and deploy customer-facing AI agents themselves, using its Conductor tooling and a new training academy.

Cresta opens its AI agent platform to developers with end-to-end self-service

Cresta has opened its AI agent platform to end-to-end self-service, letting developers build, test, deploy and optimise customer-facing AI agents themselves, the company announced on 29 October. The company says enterprise developers using Cresta have taken agents from first requirements to production on their own in as little as one week.

How does developer self-service work on Cresta?

With Cresta Conductor, developers build agents through their own repo and CI/CD pipeline. Cresta says that gives companies controlled releases, access control, and visibility into AI usage and cost.

The company says Conductor is built on the Claude Agent SDK in collaboration with Anthropic, and was first developed so Cresta's own forward-deployed teams could build agents faster. Those teams still use it, along with the Cresta CLI, and Cresta says they spend up to 5x less time on custom tools, code and deployments. Customers and partners get the same tools, plus the Cresta AI Agent SDK for writing custom code in standard Python that connects agents to their own systems. Because Conductor supports the open Agent Skills standard, skills a team has already written for its coding assistants carry over.

Cresta gives one customer example: a developer at an Australian telecom provider rebuilt an existing production chat agent, with more than 10 subagents and custom code, from another platform onto Cresta in under a week.

What controls come with it?

  • Controlled releases: teams can send a share of conversations to a new version, A/B test versions and roll back if needed.
  • Permissions: builder and reviewer roles set who can build, review, test and inspect each agent.
  • Compliance: Cresta says it holds SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications, is PCI DSS and HIPAA compliant, and was the first customer experience AI provider to achieve ISO 42001.

Cresta Academy and partner reaction

Cresta has also launched Cresta Academy, which trains and certifies customer and partner engineers to build agents on the platform. It is available through the Cresta Help Center.

Two partners are quoted in the release. "Cresta Conductor gives our teams a self-serve platform to do exactly that as we build an AI agent workforce for our clients," said Paul Ignasinski, Chief Digital Transformation Officer at Atento.

Jamie Timm, Global SVP, Service Delivery & Operations at TELUS Digital, said: "Our engineers started building on Cresta Conductor in June, learning from the docs, hands-on work, and Cresta's team."

Cresta CEO Ping Wu said: "We've handed them the keys, and love what they're already building."
