AI 2027: Have you read it, yet?

As a thought exercise alone, I would strongly recommend you sit and have a read of AI 2027, if you haven't already.

Get a cup of coffee and plan to spend 20+ minutes on it.

I think it's worth your time and energy.

A group of people who know have got together to chart out their rough predictions for how AI is likely to develop over the next months and years. And they're leaning into this process. Significantly so.

Here's how they describe AI 2027:

We predict that the impact of superhuman AI over the next decade will be enormous, exceeding that of the Industrial Revolution.
We wrote a scenario that represents our best guess about what that might look like. It’s informed by trend extrapolations, wargames, expert feedback, experience at OpenAI, and previous forecasting successes.

Some of it will feel very far-fetched.

What's that quote from Bill Gates? Ah... found it:

Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years

So it might not be in 2027. But...

I'm using this technology daily and I'm seeing the improvements, daily.

Just one example: The difference between deploying services with Claude Code back in February and now... well... it's night and day. It is astonishingly good. Already. So in the space of just 98 days, it's got much, much, much better. Demonstrably better.

So I can see how the team at AI 2027 are predicting fireworks.

What's your view?
